Medical / Provider
The process starts with completing your online medical intake, where you’ll answer questions about your health history, goals, and eligibility for treatment. A licensed medical provider will then review your information to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. If approved, your provider will create a personalized prescription based on your individual needs, and your medication will be sent to a U.S.-licensed pharmacy for fulfillment and delivery. Once you receive your medication, you’ll continue to have access to your care team through the Patient Portal. If you have questions about your treatment, dosage, side effects, or anything medically related, you can message your provider directly through the portal. Unlimited provider messaging is included as part of your care experience.
Provider reviews are typically completed within 1-2 business days, but timing can vary based on the information you provide and whether anything needs follow-up. Delays usually happen when extra documentation or clarification is needed. You’ll receive updates through the Patient Portal as your case moves through review, so you don’t have to wonder where things stand.
If a licensed provider determines that your requested treatment is not medically appropriate, you will be notified through the Patient Portal. Depending on the reason for the denial, your provider may recommend an alternative treatment if clinically appropriate and available. In some cases, treatment may be denied without an alternative recommendation. If your treatment is not approved, you may be eligible for a refund in accordance with our Refund Policy.
Yes. After your order is placed, you can communicate with your care team through the Patient Portal — whether you have a follow-up question, want to discuss how the treatment is going, or need to share a side effect or concern. Provider communication is asynchronous (think secure messaging), so you can reach out anytime and get a response within typical business hours.
No video appointments are required. The entire process at Sexy MD is asynchronous — you complete the online medical intake form, and a licensed provider reviews your information on their schedule. You don’t need to schedule an appointment, take time off, or hop on a video call. Everything happens through your account and the Patient Portal.
It depends on the treatment and your medical history. Some treatments (like GLP-1 medications) may be more straightforward with recent labs on file, while others typically don’t require any lab work. During your intake, your provider will let you know if anything additional is needed before they can approve your treatment. If labs are needed, your provider will guide you on what to request from your primary care doctor or local lab.
